LEGACY GIFT
Your legacy gift will make a lasting impact
When you choose to leave a gift in your will, you change the future of a child living in the slum of Kibera. Your act of generosity starts a wave of change from poverty to promise. Remembering WFWIA in your Will is a very personal decision but it carries great hope. It is something that you believe in and leaves a legacy your family will be proud of.
Our promise to you:
We understand how personal and meaningful this decision is. That’s why we make these promises to you:
We will always respect your privacy and your right to make this decision in your own time.
We understand that your loved ones come first, and your circumstances may change.
We will honour your gift with transparency and care, ensuring it is used where it will make the greatest impact.
We will keep your family informed about how your legacy is making a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve.

FAQs
-
A bequest is another term for a gift in a Will. In Australia, the two terms are often used interchangeably.
-
Australia does not have inheritance or estate taxes. While donations to deductible gift recipients (DGRs) are tax-deductible during your lifetime, bequests are not tax-deductible as they are part of your estate.
-
Decide to include a gift in your Will—it’s a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy.
Think about the type of gift you’d like to leave (we suggest a residual gift, as it’s flexible and helps the most).
Create or update your Will. You can do it yourself, but we recommend working with a solicitor, financial planner, or Wills specialist for peace of mind.
Add your bequest to your Will or make a simple update with a codicil (a quick legal amendment).
