"My name is Miriam Kathure, a student from Gikumene Girls High School. I want to share my heartfelt thanks for the life-changing support I’ve received from Wanawake kwa Wanawake Kenya (WKW) and Women for Women in Africa (WFWIA). My sponsor, Madam Demara Jackson, has made it possible for me to pursue my education without worry, by faithfully covering all my school fees.

Without this financial support, continuing my studies would have been nearly impossible. But thanks to WKW and my sponsor, I was never sent home due to unpaid fees. I attended classes without interruption, focused on my studies, and successfully completed my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a B+ grade—an achievement I am incredibly proud of.

Beyond just paying school fees, WKW gave me a support system. I had mentors who walked with me, encouraging me through the challenges of high school. During holidays, I found a peaceful and supportive space at the WKW Centre, free from home distractions. Their care went beyond academics—they helped me grow spiritually, socially, and morally.

Knowing that someone believed in my potential lifted my self-esteem and filled me with hope. This support didn’t just open doors—it transformed my life. I’m now moving forward with confidence and a strong desire to give back to my community, just as WFWIA and my sponsor have given to me.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me. You’ve turned my dreams into possibilities, and I will be forever grateful."

Miriam’s Journey of Gratitude and Achievement - 2025

"My name is Cletus Alusa, and I am a proud beneficiary of the Wanawake kwa Wanawake Sponsorship Programme in Kenya, under the umbrella of Women for Women in Africa. I joined the programme in 2018 when I was in Class Six, and since then, I have received nothing but unwavering support and care. My current sponsor, Rohan Charrett, has worked hand in hand with the Centre to ensure all my educational needs are met.

Before this opportunity, my future felt uncertain. Raised by a single parent, the possibility of continuing my education felt more like a distant hope than a reality. Then, a miracle happened—someone stepped in to support my schooling through the Centre. I was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. With their help, I completed primary school and earned a place in a good high school.

High school brought its share of challenges, but I never walked alone. The Centre stood with me every step of the way. Their constant support helped me push through and achieve commendable results. WKW has truly changed my life.

Through WFWIA, I was gifted something powerful—hope. Like a candle flickering in the darkness, this hope guided me. It may not be magic, but it transforms everything. Holding onto it helped me believe in a brighter future. My journey from fear and uncertainty to confidence and accomplishment is proof of what this programme can do.

I am deeply thankful to everyone behind this incredible initiative. Because of your commitment, children like me from Kibera have a chance to dream, to succeed, and to live with hope. Thank you for transforming lives—thank you for transforming mine."
