🌳 The Tree of Hope Through Education

The partnership between Women for Women in Africa (WFWIA) and Wanawake kwa Wanawake (WkW) can be  expressed as a living tree. A strong, rooted, and ever-growing , symbolising the unity, resilience, and shared purpose that define our work.

The Roots – Are Our Shared Values

Deep beneath the surface lie the roots. They are the foundation that nourishes and sustains us.
These are our shared values of equity, mutual respect, collaboration, integrity, accountability, and our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
They ground us, holding firm through challenge and change, ensuring that everything we do is guided by compassion and purpose.

The Trunk – Our Vision and Mission

At the centre stands the trunk, strong and unwavering . This symbolising our clear vision and mission of Hope Through Education.
It is the channel through which energy and direction flow, connecting the nourishment of our roots to the life of the whole tree.

The Arms – Leadership and Direction

From the trunk extend two strong arms representing the leadership of both WFWIA and WkW.
These arms provide guidance, direction, and commitment, ensuring clear communication and unity of purpose. They hold the tree upright, allowing it to grow towards the light.

The Branches – People and Partnerships

The branches spread wide — each one leading to new growth.
They represent our teams, staff, Associates, and Board members, each reaching outward to nurture their specific area of work.
Other branches connect us to our partners and networks, extending the reach of our shared impact.

The Leaves – The Women

The leaves are the women of Kibera,  vibrant, resilient, and vital.
As they learn and grow through the training programs, the leaves turn green and shine with health, symbolising confidence, financial independence, and renewed dignity.
They protect the fruit and help the whole tree to thrive.

The Fruit – The Children

The fruit are the children , who are bright, full of promise, and ready to share their seeds of change.
Through education, they carry forward the hope of a better world, spreading knowledge and opportunity across their communities.

The Water and Soil – Our Supporters

Beneath the tree are our supporters and donors.  The essential, steady hands who water the roots and keep the soil rich.
They nurture the tree, ensuring it continues to grow strong, and they gently catch and care for any fruit that may fall, giving every child and woman another chance to thrive.

The Tree – A Living Force

The WFWIA and WkW Tree is more than a symbol.
It is a life force, a combined energy, and a testament to what is possible when compassion meets purpose.
Together, we grow deeper, stronger, and ever upward. Creating lasting change, one leaf, one fruit, and one seed at a time.
